GMI Electrical has recently completed phase 1 of a car park and walkway lighting replacement at a comprehensive school in Cardiff with energy efficient LED lighting. The main goal for this replacement is for the staff and students to safely enter and exit the premises with adequate lighting levels, but another great benefit is its low energy consumption and 50,000 hour average operating time.
All the lighting is controlled by a time-switch and photocell, the reason for using two methods is to ensure the lighting is never on when its day time, then the timer will switch the lighting off at a set time each night, out of the schools operating hours to eliminate light pollution for the neighbouring houses and also reduce energy consumption.
